Anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new son, nephew, and cousin

An undertaking for the entire family...

For anyone that doesn't know, due to medical complications, Susie (pictured, right) feared she could not carry a baby. After years of hoping, praying, and trying anyway, it was clear we were not getting anywhere. As someone that dedicated her career to bringing babies into this world, (an RN on a labor and delivery floor), this was a very hard pill to swallow for Susie. In an act of sacrifice and love, her sister Cindy (pictured, left) volunteered to be a gestational carrier. The next year was filled with lots of invasive procedures for both women, an intimate moment with a sterile cup for Ryan, and a couple failed embryo implantation attempts. On our third try, the embryo we now call Liam Michael implanted himself! There are no words that can express to Cindy the gratitude we feel for this gift of life.
